We are a family of "dog people", we love each our dogs as though they are members of our family, because they are. We believe that all dogs and people deserve to have bond that will last a lifetime. This bond can be built stronger, quicker, and last for a lifetime of companionship with the right foundation. We  can give you the tools necessary to achieve your goals. Whether they may be acting obediently, or performing practical and useful herding tasks around the ranch.

Our training facility is nestled in the quite of the Ozark Mountains of South Central Missouri, on a working cattle and sheep ranch. We believe that by working and training dogs in “real world” settings, help us as well as you to achieve the best version of your dog. This helps to insure a quality relationship between you and your dog.

We offer group lessons in Obedience and Herding/Stock dogs, in 6 week sessions. We also offer private herding lessons and 30 day “started dog” training to a limited number of candidates each year.

We are conveniently located 35 miles east of Springfield, MO, 40 miles from Lebanon, MO,  & only 70 miles from Branson, MO &  Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Herding & Stock dog Training

Elijah farms has a strong belief in practical stock dog training. We currently run a 120+ acre cattle and sheep ranch, located in the scenic Ozark Mountains. Our dogs have and always will be an important part our day to day operations.  We can help provide you with the tools for “real world” herding dog applications. 
 
We start our dogs on sheep, then progress to cattle. This not only helps to build the dog’s confidence while working, but  you as the handler will gain the proper fundamentals. The dogs will not only learn to gather stock, but to move stock through gates, chutes, obstacles and sorting. 
 
We offer two different options for your stockdog’s training needs:  we offer 30 days of ”in house”training, or a 6 week training course, which can be performed as  group or private lessons. No matter which training option you choose you can be sure the have a working knowledge of the basics of herding for both you and your dog. After 30 days
you can expect to leave with a “started” working dog to use on your own operation. 


Pricing: 

30 day “in house” training $500.00 per 30-day term. 
 
6 week lesson plan (1 time per week for 6 weeks) $240.00.
